Dear Friends,
As you may know in late 2008 my sister, Cathy was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gering’s disease. She has both upper and lower signs of ALS. Because there is no cure or nothing that can be done to reverse the progression, I ask you for two things. A small donation to support the upcoming ALS walk would be great if you can in theses hard times and the most important request, a prayer and thought for Cathy, her husband and daughter to give them the strength and courage to live on through these times.

Hey, all of us in The St. Johns River Water Management District, we have new irrigation rules. The District’s governing board adopted amendments that will limit landscape irrigation to only two days a week during daylight saving time and one day a week the rest of the year. The new rule also specifies the days of the week when watering is allowed:
This went into effect on March 8, 2009.

Have you seen this show? If you have not seen this before, check it out! The sitcom only ran for 2 seasons 2006 7 2007 on Fox Network. Almost like the office. Sorry to see it go.

Okay, I just watched Google CEO Eric Schmidt on a CNBC interview after his meeting with President Obama. When did Mr. Schmidt become a lobbyist? He sounds more like a lobbyist then an “Advisor”. I was under the belief that lobbyist were not welcome at the White House. I bet California and the Silicon Valley get bailout money.

Naval Station Mayport will be getting a nuclear-powered carrier, the Navy told key Florida lawmakers Monday.
The Navy informed Sens. Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez and Rep. Ander Crenshaw that Mayport will be a home port for a nuclear carrier.
Nelson received word around noon in a phone call from Secretary of the Navy Donald Winter.
The Navy is scheduled to officially release a final environmental impact statement Nov. 21 concerning the possibility of shifting ships to Mayport from Norfolk, Va. The study evaluated the impact of more than a dozen alternatives that included a nuclear carrier, destroyers and amphibious ships.
This is great news, as someone who spent 6 years in the Navy and made Jacksonville home after getting; I am glad for the city.
